Chessminds.co
organizes lessons, lectures, programs, and services for chess players of all levels and ages. Our academy was founded by a Dad learning chess to keep up with his daughters and a U.S. Women's Top 100 chess master. These varied view points helps us balance achieve our mission of providing world class chess instruction in an accessible manner.

Summer
Co-Founder & K-12 Ambassador
Like many recent chess players, Summer began playing chess with her Dad after watching the Queen's Gambit on Netflix (just the chess parts). Though she is still figuring out what opening she likes best -- she definitely has a love for the Sicilian Dragon -- what she likes most about chess is making new friends across the board.
Her focus is on ensuring kid-oriented chess instruction is fun! Not boring. Also, she wants to make sure that chess clubs are available at all schools.
August
Co-Founder & Chief Vibes Officer
August began playing chess at the age of 4. She is still learning "how the horsey moves" but loves playing one-one -one chess and always knows her first 3 moves.
More important than anything else, August always makes sure that everyone who came to play chess is having a good time and didn't hang their knight.
Her other favorite hobbies are soccer and coloring.
Brendan
Director
President of Craic.in e-commerce & marketing, Brendan is a chess newcomer led to the game by the Queen's Gambit & his two daughters.
He is a terrible soccer player (but a decent coach), recovering political hack & law firm CCO. Brendan now spends his days helping business owners thrive in a post-covid, iPhone-driven e-commerce world.
His main focus is on making world class chess instruction more accessible.
Savetha
Chief Chess Officer
Savetha is a professional chess player, 2129 USCF rating, and currently a US Women top 100 player (46th).
She is a Commonwealth Bronze medalist (Delhi), World Youth Team Silver Medalist (Russia), Best Women Award (Spain), Best Female Player (Singapore), Mississippi Open State 3rd place finisher, and Mississippi Women Chess Champion
Her main focus is on insuring quality chess instruction by qualified chess professionals.

Founded in 2022, Islipchess.com is an informal chess club for Islip kids. We were founded after the pandemic so our kids would have other kids to play chess with. It's really that simple. In time we hope to help make chess instruction more accessible through live lectures and regular lessons with the many chess professionals we've met along the way.
